Because I have ego, and my nose is in the air. :D

2nd MGLN fanart, get. :D

And as side note, shaky connection is shaky. At the rate it is, I probably won't even bother trying to get on Mabi.

New MGLN one-shot. ;D
Ode to Darkness.
Dark NF fiction. Daaaaark. Do not read unless if you want to get chills running down your spine.
(I'm kidding. But if that really happened to you, I will applaud myself for a job well done.)

Along with it we have an accompanying song, so do me a favor and hear it as you read. >_>
Xenosaga OST I - "Beach of Nothingness" : 2.87mb : SS or RapidShare.

Self-promotion done and all...a writing meme comes next. Someone tagged me...well, not really, but a particular someone who doesn't have a LJ account put in a request for me to do this meme thing, so.

Think about all of the fandoms for which you write. List five characters you have problems "capturing" (i.e. writing in character). Post them in your journal. Then tag at least three authors from your flist you respect and ask them to do the same.

In no particular order:

1. Takamachi Nanoha, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha:
Surprise? Yes? No? No. Well, I really do like this character but...she's a tough nut to crack. I mean...I can write her, but that is SO not the case when I try to write in her point of view. Personally, I will applaud anyone who can write her in her pov, and not other character's. I will even throw in a scene (scene, not fic. Scene.) as incentive if someone presents me a story in her pov which is done very nicely. Fics currently available to the world do not count. Now, see...the problem with Nanoha is that I just can't just seem to get in her brain and figure out what she would be thinking or planning - and with the way I write things, especially since I tend to insert thoughts and all about a character when I write, it makes it incredibly hard to describe her. Not to mention she's the unpredictable type of character. Unbelievably so. That's why I tend to write her through other characters. Which is usually a certain blonde. >_>

2. Tokiha Mai, Mai HiME:
A likeable character, but still. She's another one I can't seem to wrap my finger around, despite a variety of fics that described her. I tried empathizing with the way she reacts with certain situations, and failed miserably. One popular scenario in particular describes her as a very neat type of person who sets ground rules and expects them to be followed. Maybe it's just me and the way I am, since I'm very much against ground rules and stuff like that but...well, I can't seem to see her that way. Not to say I don't agree on her characterization in fics for the most part, but I do have a problem seeing her as a total devil when it comes to ground rules and such. There was only one fic, to my memory, that enabled me to really get into her head, but that was all.

3. Suzushiro Haruka, Mai HiME:
I will be blunt. I do not get her at all. Well...I do, but I cannot write her. The way she thinks is enough to confuse me, and I'm not brave enough to try and decipher her brain and her wacko, reckless ideas and all. She's a huge mix of pride and ego and loyalty and courage and loudness and her mind hops from one idea to another in a millisecond and etc etc and...frankly, that's really what makes her hard to write. She's fun to read and watch, but a very big pain to write. Hence her presence in Stain, I'm afraid, may be close to nil, if at all.

4. Minagi Mikoto, Mai HiME:
Too innocent. Too naive. Too straightforward. One-track mind. ...Sometimes it's the most simple characters that is the hardest to write, I swear. Generally, and I mean generally, her character will only say, "Maaaiiiiii!", or "I'm hungry!", or "I will protect Mai/Yukino/[insert other char] !" or...actually, that's about it. But other than that? Honestly, I have no idea what to write about her, let alone describe anything about her. Henceforth her presence in Stain will also be close to nil, unless if by some chance I managed to grasp her character, or am able to put her somewhere conveniently.

5. Uzumaki Naruto, Naruto:
Yes. Him. The hyperactive blond. Shocking, I know. But it's true. And I will admit that this is partly the reason why Game got stuck. I'm going to give the excuse that hyperactive, rash, short-tempered innocent kids/teenagers isn't my forte. They are also unpredictably...unpredictable. I'm nearly a total contrast to people like Naruto, so...understandably, I have a bit of a harder time putting myself in their shoes. >_> Whatever past fics I've done in this fandom, I did (and still) feel that I did not characterize him properly - and I've this nagging feeling that my portrayal of his character appears to be...rather flat, so.

There are a bunch of other characters too, but I will chalk them up to lack of screentime and/or lack of interest. For instance, Hayate from MGLN (I know she had quite a number, but it's not enough, dammit. I feel like I'm walking on dangerous grounds everytime I try to write her. T_T); Akira/Akane from Mai Hime, and etc etc..

All these said and all...here comes the fun part. Tagging. And since the meme only said at least three people...

I tag...

[livejournal.com profile] ange_sinistre, [livejournal.com profile] guubear, [livejournal.com profile] sharingank a.k.a InnerKyuubi, [livejournal.com profile] kenhime and...well, chances are this one will ignore me or may want to take revenge later, but it will be fun to see her twitch and glare daggers at me: [livejournal.com profile] rae00. :D
